Nyaleti Lodge & Villa, and the eco-friendly tourist hub of Hoedspruit is perfectly situated to provide you with easy access to several bucket list experiences. You can spend your day relaxing by our pool listening to the sounds of Africa, looking for the Big 5 in Kruger National Park or experience the many outdoor activities the Blyde River Canyon has to offer.
We would be happy to assist you with booking an excursion (or two) during your stay. Please see the organized excursions we offer below. Hoedspruit is busy year-round, so advanced booking is highly recommended.
Big 5 3 Hour Game Drives in Greater Kruger
Experience a 3-hour big 5 safari with experienced qualified guides in one of Hoedspruit’s private game reserves that are only a 15-minute drive from Nyaleti. You will be driving in an open safari vehicle. A drink stop to stretch the legs and chat about the sightings is provided with tea and coffee with rusks served in the morning and sundowners and snacks for the afternoons.

Big 5 3 Hour Game Drive and Bush Dinner
Experience a 3-hour big 5 safari with experienced qualified guides in a private game reserve, followed by a wonderful dinner setup in the open plains of the reserve where a 3-course meal is served while the wildlife passes through. Enjoy the African night sky while sitting next to a fire and listening to the calls of the bush. This is a shared dining experience.

Kruger – Full Day Trips
Visit the iconic Kruger National Park with experienced qualified guides in a private open safari vehicle. This is a full day safari allowing for maximum game viewing opportunities. Departure times vary by season but generally depart at 5:30am returning at 4:00pm. We provide a packed breakfast and you will stop at a rest camp for lunch on your own account. Bottled water is available on the vehicle. Includes Kruger entrance fee.

Panoramic Full Day Tours
The Panorama Route is one of the world’s most beautiful driving routes that connects several cultural and natural points of interest. It is a must-see on everyone’s travel itinerary. You will discover the Blyde River Canyon, the world’s 3rd largest canyon, as well as the Mac – Mac falls, God’s window, the Three Rondawels and Bourke’s Luck Potholes. You will enjoy a stop at the small town of Graskop for lunch and shopping. Approximately 9-10 hours.

Blyde Dam Boat Cruise
Enjoy the splendor of the Blyde River Canyon. A knowledgeable tour guide will take you to the rare living Kadashi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. You may see hippos, crocodiles and fish eagles while learning about the natural history of the third largest canyon in the world. Duration is 1.5 hours

1 Hour Quad Bike Trail Ride
The trail will take you through riverine forests and bushveld surroundings in the foothills of the Mariepskop Mountains with the opportunity to see small animals. Closed Monday & Tuesday. Does not operate if raining. Wear closed toe shoes.

Horseback Riding on the Estate
A qualified guide will take you on a unique horseback ride through the Wildlife Estate. Experience with horse riding is not required, but there is 95 kilo weight limit. Long trousers and closed shoes are required. Closed on Sunday.

Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center
HESC is recognized as a pioneer in the conservation of rare, vulnerable and endangered animal species. The center is home to cheetah, wild dogs, black-footed cats, ground hornbills, and many other species. Guided tours in an open vehicle. Departs daily at 9 am to 11 am.

Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
The Moholoholo team are highly dedicated conservationists committed to preserving Africa’s wildlife and are extremely passionate about sharing their intimate knowledge. Many animals are unable to be released back into the wild and are used as “ambassadors” for their respective species. Closed on Sunday.

Hot Air Balloon Rides
Every good weather morning at sunrise they depart for a breathtaking experience near the foot of the Drakensberg Escarpment over the scenic lowveld. The escarpment forms an amphitheater, providing safe shelter and scenic splendor.
